Los Arroyo's 10 year Anniversary

Tuesday 10 March 2009 at 11:26 am.From March 4th through March 8th it was Los Arroyos 10th year anniversary celebration. Los Arroyos is a very delicious Mexican restaurant in downtown SB. Year after year they are rated in the top 2 salsas in SB. Anyways, when I heard that they would be rolling their prices back to 1999 levels on some menu items I was pretty excited. I began spreading the news to friends, acquaintances, and whoever would listen. At first my housemates and I weren’t sure what the savings would really be. I mean, 1999 wasn’t that long ago, how much would we be saving? When we went on the opening night of the celebration we ordered food for four people and the total was $28. That was a pretty good deal seeing how I’d taken Mal there a couple weeks ago and it was that much for two people. The gist of it, select items were about half off, but still 100% delicious! After that first night, my roommate Jeff D. announced that he would “fully explore” their menu and was planning on eating there everyday until the prices returned to their less favorable 2009 levels. Initially we all laughed at him, but I was down to go along for the ride.
The next day Mal and I enjoyed some Los Arroyos 3 item combinations for dinner. Their crunchy tacos and enchilada’s were delicious! (Jeff D. went to Los Arroyos by himself to keep his streak going, we actually saw him there when we went out) We went on Friday for lunch with a co-worker Andrew. That day I got a tostada, which was really good. Andrew had some salsa that was making him trip balls, which was pretty funny. Saturday Jeff D and I went after a good crossfit workout. Luckily we made it there at 11:50, because at noon shit was poppin’ off. I got tacos a mano and we ate them on our deck. For the grand finale, Sunday, Mal took us (thanks babe!) and we dined in and got a beer to celebrate 5 straight days of Los Arroyos. Jeff and I got t-shirts to commemorate the occasion.
It was a really nice cinco days of delicious Mexican food. I’m not even sick of that place at all, which got me thinking, if they always had 1999 prices if I’d eat there everyday of my life….possibly I guess. Now, my next diet probably wont be as fun!
