Man Jose

Friday 25 July 2008 at 12:30 pm

While at work today and I had a quick flashback to a few months ago. When I went up to San Jose to visit a good friend and his girlfriend because I needed a little escape from Santa Barbara. I don't remember too much about the weekend as I am sure most of it was spent playing guitar hero and rock band, and therefore not blog worthly. But I did recalll one night that we went might be a worthly of a short blog.

The night started out with a few drinks at their apartment and before we decided to head out to a bar in downtown Saratoga. I was newly single at the time and looking to blow off a little steam, through the act of dancing. We paid like a $10 cover a this bar, I wish I could remember the name to warn all of my many readers for patronaging this place, and it seemed pretty happening in there. And by happening, I mean like in Soledad. As we enter the bar, all I see is bro's. Tons and tons of bros. I mean like, wall to wall bros. I get kinda bummed by this, and I let my friend Chris know. I'm like whats the deal man? I mean its cool you brought yourself a girl, but there are seriously like 4 chicks in this place. You suck dude.

Awesome new pic

Saturday 03 May 2008 at 8:30 pm

I just want to let you all know that I have upgraded that picture of like a farm to one of me. How exciting and appropriate for ryderbailey.com. So enjoy my sleeping face.

Also, there are a couple things I really want to do in the coming year. They include going to a baseball game at Yankee Stadium before they close it down. Go to KJEE's summer round up at the bowl. Go to a cabin and fish. Go on a cruise to Mexico. And buy a whole bunch of buffalo steaks on the internet. If any of these activities interest you leave a post and let me know so we can start planning some fun things to do this summer.

Lastly, my face is healing up very nicely. The swelling is down, and I can talk okay. My lower lip and chin are still numb, but I expect that to last for some time. I've lost a whole bunch of weight and cant wait to gain some of it back when I get my jaw unwired. My beard is filling in nicely and I went to Pedro's boy Gabe to get a new haircut for the summer. I've been getting lots of blenders and drinking soups. I've come to enjoy tomatoe soup, which would be awesome to dip a sandwich in. I will be doing that once I can resume eating real food. Other than that nothing too new happening in my llife so, bye for now!

College Part II

Tuesday 29 April 2008 at 5:00 pm

Beginning last June I began a journey, unbeknowst to me, that would lead to a college like experience way better than my original college years. Don't get me wrong I truly enjoyed going to junior college and playing baseball for a couple years. But living at home, playing ball and working kept me pretty busy. I transferred to UCSB with my really good friend Ryan and we lived in a small apartment on Sabado, but its location was awesome. We had good times studying, working, playing wiffle ball, frisbee and surfing. But we were pretty quiet and simple dudes.

So hungry

Saturday 26 April 2008 at 01:38 am

Not too much happened today. I am still recovering and my face is still pretty busted. I woke up and made myself a shake. I want to bite into something so bad! Having your mouth wired shut is pretty crappy. I played a game of Halo with Jeff and the birthday boy Robbie. Who am I kidding? I played a bunch of Halo today. Watched some sports. The timing is pretty good because there's baseball going on, basketball playoffs, so that's nice. I tried to watch a movie, No Country for Old Men, but fell asleep. If you know me, your thinking thats normal, because I always fall asleep during movies. However, I like to think a little bit had to do with that I have very little energy. I just havent been eating all that much so I've got little energy. I take frequent cat naps.

I had a couple visitors which is awesome. Joel dropped by with ingredients for his favorite shake, pumpkin. I can't wait to get that in my belly. Sara (Mallory's roommate) dropped by and gave me some Naked Juice so I'll get my nutrients and she also gave me a nice get well card. And of course my awesome girlfriend came by to check on her boy. I feel very lucky to have a whole bunch of friends who care about me.

Other than all that my day was pretty boring and I am sure theres much more where that came from. I see my Doc next tuesday and I hope he sticks to my two weeks and I'm un-wired business so keep your fingers crossed. I am pretty tired, I think I'll try to watch a Sopranos and hit the sack. Goodnight!

I made it!

Thursday 24 April 2008 at 9:43 pm

So it's Thursday and I'm blogging with a pretty busted face. I was able to check out around noon today, just about 24 hours after my surgery. I'll give you all a run down of how it all went down from 6:00 am Tuesday when I arrived at Cottage til now.

My Mom and I showed up around 6:00 am on Tueday morning. I was not too excited about this day, however it was a long day coming. I checked in, stripped down (BAO) got my vitals checked and just layed down. I chatted with my Mom trying not to think too much about what was going to take place at 8:30. They hooked me up to an I.V. and give me a couple pills to take. My roommate Robbie shows up around 7 ish to get some footage for his side film project. While the script has been classified, even from me, the main star, I feel it'll be something like Kanye West's Through the Wire. It is also worth mentioning that Robbie hates waking up early, so his early morning arrival was much appreciated. What sacrifice! He films me for a little while, I am pretty sure he documents that he gets my beloved XBox 360 if anything bad happens to me. Having him and my Mom there made me feel pretty comfortable even though I was a nervous wreck. A little before 8 am they wheel me off to the anaestheiologist.

Jaw Surgery

Tuesday 22 April 2008 at 5:46 pm

As many of you probably know, I am having jaw surgery tomorrow. It's going to be major weak sauce but I'll be pretty happy once it's over and done. It'll take place tomorrow morning at 8:30 am at Cottage Hospital 2 North. The surgery is supposed to take an hour and then I will be moved to the recovery ward for the rest of the day, and at least one night. I hope to be able to return home Thursday at 11 am.

Laughlin, Nevada

Tuesday 15 April 2008 at 8:49 pm

One of my first memories of moving into my new house was my roommate Mike talking about Laughlin. Things like how awesome it was and how we totally had to go. I didn't really believe that it would happen, but I told him that I was in.

About a month ago he got a flyer in mail, since he's a players club member, for 3 nights at the Harrahs, and it was game time. Without hesistation I told him that I was in. And of course I invited my beautiful girlfriend to come along and we made it a couples getaway.

Steroids party, my place, you coming?

Thursday 20 March 2008 at 11:35 pm

I am the most sickly human being in the world. In recent memory I've been barbed by a sting ray, blown out my 'bow, needed a new jaw piece, sinus infection, and most recently tonsillitis. Not bad for a relatively healthy 25 year old. My latest trip to the doctors office was pretty interesting. Upon meeting the doctor he asked to see my throat. He goes, "Have you seen this?" And I am all yeah, doc, I have a mirror. The diagnosis is that my tonsills are hella swollen. He's pretty amazed that I am doing as well as I am with such swollen tonsills. Anyways, I get prescribed some antibiotics and steriods.

Yeah, steroids bro. So, if you see me don't set off my 'roid rage. I haven't hit the gym up yet but, I'm sure the effects will be drastic when I feel healthy enough to return. Oh, and it was only a three day supply... so I guess I'm out. But I'm pretty sure that after my jaw surgery if I end up sub- 200lbs they'll give me some more because I'll have a medical reason to bulk up.
